The fragility of life and, by association, love has been the subject of many works of art. From Bram Stoker’s Dracula and modern adaptations to J.R.R. Tolkien’s story of Beren and Lúthien, it is something universally everyone fears and will inevitably face in our lives. This song was written to express the beauty and frailty of love. Sometimes, love is broken forever. But other times, it has the ability to transcend time, and that thought, despite the pain that comes with it, is a comforting one.
